one of the things I am “best” at is riding roughshod over my own feelings (and especially my body’s own cues) 🫠 a potent elixir created from evangelical religion, gender conditioning, and maintaining appearances AT ALL COSTS.
Growing up in the culture we’ve got happening here in the the good ole USA, we are generally served by being able to turn it off and get ‘er done. But, what about when it no longer serves?
In a recent Human Design reading, I realized that my adrenalized spleen/root connection (defined root, defined spleen connected by a full defined channel) FUELS MY ABILITY TO OVERRIDE MY INTUITION / body’s cues. This direct connection (definition) means I have access to power through (blessing/curse) BUT SOMETIMES IT WOULD SERVE ME TO NOT POWER THROUGH and this is what I assume it’s like to be a Generator - knowing you have the energy to do it, but somehow finding the strength to say No anyways.
Turning off our survival and moving into gentleness within ourselves is a massive shift.
If we’re moving from SURVIVAL TO “THRIVE”AL - we MUST turn the emotions and feelings back on. We cannot serve our own highest good and function at our best if we are disconnected from self. Being in the body, being connected to source, being in the divine, listening to our intuition, whatEVER you want to call it, YOU GOTTA BE IN THE BODY FOR IT TO HAPPEN.
This past week one of my roommates asked me how I define success.
(what I've been listening to recently)
Typically when asked something so open-ended, I freeze. My mind goes fully black. This time though, an answer zipped through me; success is a feeling of relaxation. Being relaxed into the body, not bracing against life.
THIS IS THE SHIFT. TO MOVE OUT OF SURVIVAL, WE MUST TAKE THE RISK OF BEING CONNECTED TO OUR PHYSICAL VESSEL.
Being in the body means feeling. Being in the body means facing full on. When we move out of the body to predict the future or haunt the past, we’re not open to the void.
The void is where the magic is. The void is where we can erase the energetic residue that keeps us on the same track.
Even when we’re bracing against what we *think* comes next, we cannot know what comes next.
WE CANNOT KNOW WHAT COMES NEXT.
Being present is the medicine for all things. This becomes more and more clear. To be present, we must be willing to be in the body, not haunting the past nor predicting the future.
Success to me is being relaxed, open, able to flow and see what IS. Seeing what is - this is the trip. Presence is cultivated. Presence is the most powerful alluring force.
This ^^ is THE LIFE.
While sometimes this journey can feel lonely, it is the ultimate paradox. We’re all untangling this knot for ourselves. We’re alone and together. Yes, ultimately we're doing it for ourselves, for our own end, but that creates ripples, that creates a new path for someone else.
Everything is paradox, duality, cyclical.
Embrace the now, bb.
